Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 25, 2026 · Last Updated: April 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how VoltFlow.net ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website. We take privacy seriously and aim to be clear about what data we collect and why.

1. Information We Collect

VoltFlow does not require user accounts. We do not ask for your name, email, or any identifying information to use our calculators. The data we collect is limited to the following categories:

Automatic technical data. When you visit any page, our hosting provider (Vercel) and analytics provider (Google Analytics) record standard server log information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, the pages you visit, and the date and time of access. This data is used to monitor site performance, detect abuse, and improve user experience.

Cookies. We use a small number of cookies. A persistent cookie remembers your light or dark theme preference. Google AdSense places cookies to deliver relevant advertising and measure ad performance. Google Analytics places cookies to count and measure visitors. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect some features.

Calculator inputs. When you enter values into our calculators (load amps, panel wattage, etc.), those values are processed entirely in your browser. We do not transmit them to our servers or store them. Your calculation history is private to your device and not visible to us.

2. How We Use Information

3. Third-Party Services

VoltFlow uses the following third-party services that may collect data about your visit:

Google AdSense. Displays advertising on our pages. AdSense uses cookies and the DART cookie to serve ads based on your previous visits to our site or other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com or by visiting aboutads.info to opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising.

Google Analytics. Provides aggregate traffic statistics. Data is anonymized and used solely for site improvement.

Vercel. Hosts the website infrastructure. Vercel collects standard server logs as part of operating its content delivery network.

4. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you have specific rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our contact page. We will respond within 30 days. Note that since we do not store calculator inputs or require accounts, we typically have very little personal data to provide.

5. Data Retention

Server logs are retained for 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes. Google Analytics data is retained per Google's published retention policy (currently 14 months for our configuration). Calculator input data is never stored on our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

VoltFlow is intended for adult professionals and students aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. International Data Transfers

Our services are hosted on Vercel's global edge network. By using VoltFlow you acknowledge that your data may be processed in data centers outside your country of residence. We rely on the standard contractual clauses and adequacy decisions provided by our service providers for cross-border data transfer compliance.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. We follow standard security practices for our infrastructure. However, no website can guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of a security issue, please report it through our contact page.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
